The background to this decision relates to concerns surrounding the care and the condition of horses that have been under his care.

NHA Officials have been monitoring the stable closely and in a late development on Monday, 31 March 2025, and after consultation with the owner of these horses, six of them were relocated to another trainer’s stable yard.

The one remaining horse will be surrendered to the Coastal Horse Care Unit later today.

Mr Karriem has subsequently advised the NHA that he has relinquished his Trainer’s licence with immediate effect.

  • Media release by the NHA on Tuesday, 01 April 2025.
