Zietsman Has Gold In Fairview Lucky Last

First due off @ 12h30

Two feature races headline today’s eight-race programme on the Fairview turf track. The Non-Black Type Fairview Mile and the Non-Black Type Fairview Merchants are carded as Race 6 and Race 7 accordingly.

The first race is due off at 12h30 and the lucky last is set for 16h35.

Karoo Gold (Louis Mxothwa) could be the horse to close off the day (Pic – Pauline Herman)

Karoo Gold from the Zietsman Oosthuizen yard may be the horse to close off the meeting. He should have finished closer to the winner last time.

He had to be steadied at the 300m mark and switched for running room at the 250m mark.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He finished 0.25 lengths behind Harold The Duke, three runs ago.

He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Trainer Alan Greeff sends out Splicethemainbrace in Race 2. She won a good race in the Non-Black Type Aloe Stakes last time.

The saddle was reported to have slipped that day which makes the victory that much more encouraging. She has won five times from six starts on this course.

The daughter of Master Of My Fate is the class horse in this contest and she should take a power of beating.
