Ziets’ Could Have Another Today!

Greg Cheyne stood down

A blockbuster weekend of racing, that includes terrific action from Britain, Ireland and Australia on Saturday, kicks off locally with an eye-catching eight-race programme at Fairview on the polytrack today with the first race kicking off 12h30.

Please note that Greg Cheyne is not riding today.

The best bet of the day comes in Race 3 with Modakhar.

Bobby Bean writes that this Zietsman Oosthuizen trained 4yo gelding has placed in three of his four runs to date.

He drops down to the mile and based on his last run where he was staying on throughout, he should be able to break his maiden with Nathan Klink in the irons.

The value bet of the day comes in Race 1 with Tevye. He was impressive in his debut run when finishing strongly to finish fourth.

He goes over the same course and distance in this contest with jockey Lukas Bester retaining the ride and from a mid-field draw, the pair should be running on strongly in the run down to the line.

The false rail is set at 3m out at the 421m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h30
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second race at 13h05
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h40
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h15
  • The second Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h50
