Failed to ensure that he did not cause interference

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 27 May 2022, Jockey Craig Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

The particulars being that whilst riding JULIET TANGO, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BOLD ACT (R Fourie) at the 150m in Race 7 at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 7 May 2022.

Jockey Zackey pleaded not guilty, however, he was found guilty of the charge.

National Horseracing Authority

The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence and mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days.
