Jackson Can Give Ridgemont A Guineas Double

In-form Dynasty sire looks ready for a Gr1 strike

A capacity field of 16, including Gauteng-based stakes winners True To Life and Cockney Pride, will take on the locals in the R1 million WSB Gr1 Cape Fillies Guineas at Kenilworth on Saturday 14 December.

The Kieswetter family will fancy their chances of a double in the prestigious classic, after their Dynasty daughter Front And Centre won the Gr1 last December.

They are back with another smart Dynasty in Kelpie (again ridden by Marcus), and a pair of exciting Jackson fillies in Western Cape Fillies Championship runner-up Pretty Young Thing (Jackson) and the very progressive, Flame Tree.

The trio were bred by Ridgemont Highlands (Flame Tree in partnership with Georgina Jaffee) and based on the outstanding form of Dynasty’s triple Gr1 winning son Jackson, who stands at Ridgemont Highlands and who marked his 29th winner of the season earlier this week, Pretty Young Thing and Flame Tree, despite wide draws, could be ready to give their strikingly handsome sire his maiden Gr1 succees.

True To Life, who won the Gr3 Magnolia Handicap at Turffontein on Summer Cup, is an interesting contender as she tries the mile again after appearing to have preferred the sprint trips so far.

The Corne Spies-trained Gr2 Golden Slipper winner Cockney Pride dug deep to hang in for third in the Dingaans behind Shango and Frosted Gold on the same afternoon.
