Definitely a potential star!

Well-known breeder Basil Nelson was elated about the birth of his One World colt born on Heritage Day. He is out of the Nelson’s Querari mare, Mon Cherie.

Based at Drakenstein, One World is a multiple Gr1 winning son of late South African sire, Captain Al.

He won 10 of his 13 starts including the 2020 Gr1 Kenilworth Sun Met, Gr2 Concorde Cup, Gr3 Winter Guineas, Gr3 Matchem Stakes, Listed Langerman, Gr2 Green Point Stakes and the Gr3  Winter Classic.

One World placed 2nd in the Gr1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate and ran third in the Gr1 Cape Guineas of his year.

A one-time winner, the youngster’s Dam Mon Cherie is out of the Rebel King mare, Moulin Royale.

Mon Cherie , who is a 3 parts niece to Mill Queen who ran 2nd  in the Gr1 Thekwini Stakes at Hollywoodbets Greyville to Gabor, ran 14 times for a win and 6 places.

She was trained by Patrick Kruyer and ran behind the likes of Vandah’s Spirit, Binoche, Roll in the Hay and Mirage.
