We see the return of Charles Dickens from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable, in the Grade 3 Hollywoodbets Matchem Stakes.

He makes his seasonal debut after a successful KZN campaign having won the Grade 2 WSB Guineas and the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge.

The 17-week break would have done him the world of good. He is unbeaten from two starts over this distance and he should notch up his ninth career victory.

Two A Penny from the Adam Marcus stable takes her place in Race 3. She stayed on when fourth over 1600m on this course last time.

Her penultimate run when second over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth catches the eye.

The daughter of Twice Over is having her peak run today. The 1400m should be right up her alley and from her good draw of three, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
