Kannemeyer Filly Looks Hard To Beat

The height of the so called south african champions season and also a stand alone weekend meeting and the operator puts on a drab 8 race program on the polytrack with the headliner being a merit rated 76 ...Throw in average field size after scratchings of 9 and you expect punters to get excited over this drivel? ..This type of meeting should be run midweek not on sundays

Barend Says ‘Put My System To Test’

My point of departure when it comes to assessing stallion (or broodmare) potential is that great performance on the track does not always translate into success in the breeding shed. Look no further than Horse Chestnut and Empress Club. So, for me, it's always a case of wait-and-see when a new stallion or broodmare joins the ranks, and I'm always willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the less fashionable ones, rather than writing them off due to lack of a sparkling racing record or blue-blooded pedigree.

Lance is an interesting one. I have clear memories of him as a promising 3yo and his defeat of Louis The King, although I wasn't aware until recently that he'd been standing as a stallion. I assume he's been standing at a low fee, so I'm surprised that more buyers didn't have a punt on him, to see if the ability he demonstrated early on could be passed on to his progeny. I hope he gets more opportunities now that Quid Pro Quo has demonstrated her ability.

To Mr Botes, well done on the hard work you've put in on the pedigree analysis and the level of research you've been carrying out. I hope this leads to further success for you and your

City With No Limits!

Not the first article I have seen in which Aidan O'Brian has outlined possible races which are under consideration for his star colt during the British season.
The Irish Champion Stakes is one of the possibles, and incidentally also the race to which See It Again got an invitation from Irish Racing.
To quote mr Nick Jonsson at the time: "Let's see how SIA goes in the July and the Champions Cup".
Not that I think anything will come of it, but who knows....

Barend Says ‘Put My System To Test’

Hi Mark
More chance of Biden becoming President, thanks for the compliment though, I trust that you are well? The reason I understand Barends Frustration is that I have just completed an International certification on Database Training with a French company called Arioneo, that use HR Monitors for Training and Racing, and it is without doubt the best HR tool available worldwide, but more of that

Barend Says ‘Put My System To Test’

Hey Eric
Been awhile Barend though passionate about training and clearly gifted when given the chance just doesn't have the social side the modern day owner requires which is sad
He should be employed by the likes of Drakenstien to assist with their breeding program and run a private training yard for them
Thinking back now you would be a perfect Jock for Hluhluwe any chance of you coming out of

Barend Says ‘Put My System To Test’

What a pity that Trainers like Barend are overlooked by Owners, when he is obviously dedicated to his craft, it's not easy to build a database system, such as he has developed. Hats off to you Barend, I hope that this article changes things for you, because you deserve to be acknowledged for your hard work and

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
