I remember Greg Dabbs as a top rider in the Cape Hunt racing days. He was always the rider my dad and myself put in each jackpot leg. Brings back fond memories of those winter days in the Cape. Garth Puller was obviously the one we used to put in all jackpot races when it came to the flat races.
RIP Mr

Frankie Zackey...Well Done To The Champ Richard Fourie...If the public only understand and realize what it takes to break records,, they'll appreciate Richard's milestone even more...I personally don't believe the records set now by Richard will ever be broken even if Richard himself tries it a few more times...I've got one piece of advice for RF,, he must never lose his cool attitude... There's very few people in the industry that dislike Richard and that's very rare to see especially in the horseracing industry... God Bless The Champ

I had many battles with Greg in the show jumping arena and on the track at Cape Hunt meetings . He was a super talented rider , fearless competitor and always had a friendly smile . For many years he was one of the top all round horseman in Cape Town. Gone but not forgotten

The numbers speaks for themselves. In over 400 rides our 3 jockeys wins are under 90 i total. Yet Fourie over 400 runners breaks a long standing record. Come on have confidence in our local

Can i just clarify for you Norman. Nominations to the Longines 1600 are strictly by invitation only. After the disgraceful behaviour at Hollywoodbets Greyville race course earlier in the year I would say the chances of an invite are very slim to non

Valid point D Muscatt prime example came so far and at what cost. One notible ride in the Cpt Met ,over three big race days with a mediocre win/place return. The bucks and race day experience could have stayed locally. Its all about the hype how will local jockeys become top class if they are confined to stable work and lower division

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
