Hollywoodbets Durban July – Bling Walloped With Massive Fine And Time Off

Hey Cecil
He was getting a fine either way
Strike the horse 8 times and he would have got 6 months for not riding out
Dave The King is the one there won't be a three year old in the first four
Don't tell

Hollywoodbets Durban July – Bling Walloped With Massive Fine And Time Off

Hi Keith
We moderate all comments - the poster was referencing the figurative 'gamble' on the extra strikes by a jockey poised on victory in the big race.
Don't believe that he impinged upon the jockey's integrity and was rather reflecting on the possible state of mind of the rider in those hectic final few moments.
Thanks for expressing your opinion, nevertheless.

Who was counting unreal....... When u try win and u get such an astronomical fine.... Please why must jockeys ride with a whip if u get such a fine...No wonder so many 100/1 arrive who wants to win if your fine is waiting behind the winning

Hi ED.My email iro the July race was conveniently not recorded in this forum. To add more salt to the wounds, you cover the NHA penalty on Bling with such ease.Perhaps you are biased and appear to be selective in what content you elect to print.Shocking the NHA deems it necessary to punish the pilot for such transgressions yet the main culprits,Without doubt being Oriental Charm and indeed the Stipendiary stewards not doing their job is the greatest traversing in the sport of horseracing,in the modern Era.Do yourself a favour and watch the Spacewalk video and the Wylie hall debacle to understand the undertones of the racing world.Talk about transparency lets start at the top please. No one is above the industry

" striking Cousin Casey more than twelve times (15), which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race "

He was trying to win the biggest Race in Africa !
IF ever it was warranted, this was it. Otherwise remove this wording...

Repeat offender, ouch, this is a big fine, if one adds the time

While I can understand Cape Racing's predicament with regards to the vagaries of the weather and the condition of the tracks, where I agree with Joey Schroeder is that this meeting (Monday) was cancelled on Thursday already. So they certainly had no intention of racing today, regardless of what happened weather-wise over the weekend. Surely they could have held off the decision until Sunday morning or another gallop on Monday morning? We are always hearing about the "world-class" drainage and track facilities at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, but a meeting gets cancelled 4 days in advance!??!
I'm sure there is going to be a gross amount of scratchings as the fields are big on

No prob, Frankie.
All trainers really in same boat - Milnerton and Philippi very wet.
Private trainers - Andre Nel (Rondeberg on West Coast), Glen Kotzen (Woodhill in Paarl) and Mike Stewart (The Dunes, Noordhoek)may be better/worse off to varying degrees.
Will try a catch up with them as things develop on Wednesday morning.

Could not agree with Cecil more, was at the course picked the first and second race winners from paddock parade.

Both were head and shoulders above their respective fields.

They both will win a fair share of their races

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
