According to Guinness World Records, the jockey who has ridden the most winners is Brazilian Jorge Antonio Ricardo who, as of January, 2021, had amassed a career total of 13,044 winners. Born in Rio de Janeiro in September, 1961, Ricardo rode his first winner, as a 15-year-old apprentice in 1976 and enjoyed his best season in his native land in 1992/1993, when he rode 477 winners; by contrast, the British record for the most winners in a season is 289, set by Sir Anthony McCoy in 2001/02.
‘Ricardinho’, as Ricardo is known to his fans, has suffered various fractures, including to his jaw, shoulder blade, collarbone, vertebrae, elbow and femur, in his long, illustrious career, not to mention recovering from cancer of the lymphatic system, or lymphoma, when in his late forties. Nevertheless, despite being incapacitated for protracted periods, he equalled the previous world record, 12,844 winners, set by retired Canadian jockey Russell Baze, in February, 2018. Since then, Ricardo has continued to add to his total, passing the landmark of 13,000 winners in September, 2020. This what we call NHRA is disfuntional and need to be dissolved and appoint new members with fresh minds,these one are biased and have personal agendas,it start with the Merit Rating of horses,if my memory serves me right there was an outcry by the trainers whose runners were qualifying to run the Durban July Handicap,not sure which year, but due to unfairness their horses were scratched and they rated the ones for the cronnies,remember the recent Jockey Robert Khathi issue e.t.c.We the punters we carry the cost.The trainers have the employees who must earn salaries at the end of the

I am not a legal expert, but I have had a court experience. I know that when a witness is under cross examination, he is not allowed to speak with his own legal team .The Peters' statement says that the NHA is still busy with its case so it must have been the NHA's witness that was being cross examined by Advocate Riley. As the application causing the delay was brought by the Peter family, the misbehaviour and I can think of nothing else other than an improper consult with the witness must have been caused by the NHA or its legal representation.
If this is true, the NHA should come clean and advise us what happened and who did it as at the end of the day that organisation is entirely funded by the industry, and it is accountable to the industry. The Peters' statement is understandably very restrained. The NHA needs to be accountable, and heads should roll if they have acted improperly or
