Aah this is very sad news, gone way too soon

What a racing man, straight shooter, cool guy, family man

Never met him, But thru their foundation we spoke on the phone twice

Yes thanks to Hwbets bringing him back into racing; Now to honor this Great guy we should have an annual race named after him

Sincerest condolences to Mrs Shaw and family

Shaheen may you Rip sunshine, racing has lost a huge character. To the Shaw family condolences from the racing Sing family. We were lucky enough to have had lunch with him on one of his rodeos which finished off way later than anticipated. A man of integrity and if he cud, then the punters must always win. If the short priced favourite ran a dismissal race, it used to be hilarious how Shaheen wud throw his toys out the cot live on TV. Rain down on the punters from heaven,

SA Racing Has Lost A Ray Of Sunshine

When the news came through from Greyville yday, I was completely stunned. Shaheen was a guy who was great for the sport. Apart from being a top tipster, he had flair and enthusiasm and there's no doubt this enthusiasm was contagious and attracted newcomers to racing.
Every sport needs its characters and Shaheen was a little like the late John McCririck who built up a big following in the UK.
I worked a number of years with Shaheen at Tellytrack and he wasn't scared to get involved in controversial issues - he had forthright opinions on most matters.
Numerous Joburg-based racing media including Clyde, Nico, Neil, Cecil and Darryl will feel the sadness at this time. We worked alongside a special guy and I guess we will look back on those days with fondness. Yes, "Sunshine" we'll miss you
