Betway Summer Cup – The Class Of ’24

I know horses under sufferance have previously won this race - but it's ridiculous that so many are out at the weights in a race called the "Summer

Betway Summer Cup – The Class Of ’24

My take on the Summer Cup is straightforward, very few very good horses in JHB at present
The two KZN visitors stick out like sore thumbs with Royal Victory to humble the opposition again , if only Racheal was given the chance she might have won but alas we will never know
He seems to thrive once she gets on board and he was a little upset after she dismounted in the winners enclosure
Strydom has enough excuses
I must also just add that Main Defender looked the best I've seen him in a while striding down beautifully in his last race
Pick 6 the way to

There is absolutely no doubt that Marauding Horde will be a Gold Cup horse.

The yard ran the horse on consecutive weeks after a long break - the poor second run was

NHA Report Further Prohibited Substance Findings

What about 10 race meetings as a punitive measure, Jockeys are already subjected to these measures. These findings are reputational damaging and brings sports in disrepute. I for now punt Hollywoodbets Kenilworth only, cause of trust for

I don't think there is any doubt about this horse's ability - his last run in the wet was an absolute cracker - the 10F is an unknown and with some rain predicted next week - it wont help.

If you look everywhere in the World - in fact let's just stick with SA - every yard / trainer has regular jockeys for their Group horses unless there is a weight issue. There must be a great advantage at having people that work the horse / know the horse ride it in races.

It's unbelievable that it's come to this - the Habib guy doesn't seem to lack confidence - Muzi out - Lerena chose the horse that's proven over course and distance. Now AD get his

My take on this continuous change of jockey is that after every race the connections seem to blame the jock...never the trainer or the fact that the horse is just not good enough...that's what happens when you call a goose a swan...or a champ for that

Frankie Zackey...Shot Mark... I must be honest it was a hard decision separating the 5 Jocks that the guy's had in mind...Andrew Fortune being one of them but unfortunately that was not to be (SAD) the Team then thought how fitting it would be to have Andrew's Son Aldo On Main Defender...It's going to be a cracking race...I personally feel there's 7 serious horses in this years Summer Cup that could

The draw soiree is mostly a bit of a misnomer/disappointment. Let's rather figure out which runner or favoured horse in the betting is already fried chicken...just to be clear, not flavoured

Weighing Up Races

Mr. Mills there is one important factor you do not have to consider.
And that is whether a horse likes wet surfaces to race on.
Not in South Africa, You do not have worry your head about the surfaces
Horse is not allowed to race over wet surfaces in South Africa in the last couple of years
Heavy going is unheard of in South

Some horses lucky to make final field...other unlucky not to get in...
Marauding Horde the wrong races into the SC. Over 2000 this horse is at his best. Should never been entered over 2400 7 days after his previous race. Should have been in Victory Moon rather. Safe Passage also unlucky.

From the final field...in no specific order...winner from these

Morning Mark 🙂

This horse has had more Jocks than the Editor had girlfriends in his matric year of 1994

Tip to the connections - stay behind the 2 Natal until sadly this brilliant miler will fade away

It cannot be easy for the connections having the 4th or 5th jockey on MD for this calender year.

I don't think I have ever seen this before for a horse competing at Group

When do these stop. Definitely not performance enhancing but masking injuries. WHEN DO THESE STOP!
What good is a fine for repeat offenders. Surely there has to come a time when these guys are got to face some other forms of punishment.
What good is a fine when it's paid from winnings or by owners assistance.
How do you clean up a sport by allowing it to happen.
A now retired trainer was given a R625000 fine??
Do fines discourage them ???

Whose responsible?? NHRA or the trainers committing these
