Whipgate – Lerena & Gates Sanctioned

Gates on a no hoper, forget the price, carries the well supported runner out 5 or 7 widths from the top of the straight, only if his eyes are closed he does not know Gavin is there, he hits his horse with the right hand and it straightens up, he then for no good reason changes his stick to the left hand and hits Gavin's horse and then hits Gavin, and not by accident ,,its very clear on the slow motion which obviously not many of you have managed to see, otherwise you may KNOW different, what about this cant you understand,, make a plan to get someone to assist you with the video or try get the version Kevin Lerena put on social media.. and why does the NHA not release the transcripts in the media and stop the speculation. Gates assaults Lerena

And then we get accused of not knowing what we are talking about or

Decades Of Triumphs & Challenges – Ormond Ferraris

Hi Frankie, yes indeed, I was at a bookie and did have, usually, a bet on the nose on her.

Those were good days , fancy free and footloose. From Cape Town, even when the Joburg coverage was limited in the late 70's and early 80's, my Aunt Cynthia, who worked for the Ovenstone's, told us that the Ovenstone's told her that Mr. Ferraris was the the bee's knees of Johannesburg racing. She said never mind the Cawcutt's , Mr Ferraris was the wise man of racing with his small

DRC Announces Schedule Change – 2025 Dubai World Cup

Well Said Sheikh Rashid safety first before money and without the guest the racing would not be successful I really enjoyed last year closing ceremony with the voice clips coming out clearly on the speaker systems around the entire Meydan racecourse pity I'm not attending it this year after 5 Dubai world cups I witnessed previously but I know my wife will enjoy it together with the Lyra staff

Bortz Answers Joe Public’s Questions

Very interesting and pleasing to note the discussion regarding punters. I am a bit confused by Greg’s comment about a special event at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth where a group of punters were invited and refreshments were provided. He highlighted that the pools in that particular enclosure was not as per their expectation as punters were punting with different betting operators and not through their operations. Unsure what he expected as marketing never realises an instant response.

Also not sure what marketing strategy was used at this event influence the invited punters to encourage the invited punters consider using their facilities and betting operations To say it was a LOSS exercise is indeed very short sighted. There so much of innovative opportunities to influence punter’s choices is unbelievable. It seems another way to say PUNTERS ARE NOT PRIORITY if this once off experience is to be used as a trademark.

Hopefully going forward punters will
be treated with respect and recognised as key stakeholders in some way….. many innovative opportunities are

Bortz – On South African Horseracing’s Past, Present And The Future

Gavin I agree with your comment that GvN probably has some SERIOUS issues (on his hands). BUT this me Chris(tian) not GvN. I agree that it's probably not good for his health. Did I read your message correctly or did you perhaps leave a word out? Are you with me? Looking forward to bump into you again at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth/Durbanville soon.

Greetings

Firstly, the prices of the horses have actually nothing to do with what transpired and secondly Gavin was behind Jason so unless Jason had rear view mirrors to see where Gavin was and to know where Gavin was going to make his run up the wide Turffontein straight then that's also rubbish ..If I was Gavin i would be extremely happy with the punishment he has got for such a shocking act...Send the film of this race to a first world racing jurisdiction and see what punishment Gavin would have got from the moment it happened. The Nha have handled the entire incident shockingly which is par for the course for them, and they should be investigated themselves but clearly they are a law unto themselves they don't answer to anyone and listening to podcasts its clear the operators who CONTRIBUTE TO THE NHA OVERHEADS IN A MASSIVE WAY are scared to say

With regard to favouritism
History shows that certain jocks are singled out n punished more severely more often than others. Starting with GvN. On 25/3/2025 found guilty rule 62.2.7 causing interference.pleaded not guilty.fined R50000. Susp 21days. On 6/7/2025. JP pleaded guilty. Rule 62.2.7 caused clear n obvious interference costing sia at least a place in the july.Susp 16 days.no fine.no outrage from media.only well done good ride JP. Imagine if Grant or Bling was the rider. Also Mr Strydom true proffessional.after interference still rode sia to get best possible finish.no fuss no crying after race.unlike Gavin who stops trying resulting in horse finishing way back.no perseverance.he bumped me twice.
Bling was also fined on 6/7/2025 rule 58.10.2 misuse of crop fined R54500. Called a repeat offender.
Fourie also guilty on gold cup day. Rule 58.10.2 crop misuse.also called repeat offender bt fined R35000.
Gavin also found guilty of this rule 58.10.2 on 24/8/24 guilty 4x in one day fined only R1000 each again guilty 18/9/2024 fined R1000. Gold cup day guilty 30/72022 fined R10000. Not once labeled repeat offender. S veale found guilty 18/2/2025 fined R20000 suspension 7days.
The NHA should check themselves cos big discrepancies in these punishments. Try be more fair and evenhanded to get a happy house.hpe my research is

We have been told by Mr. Bortz in no uncertain terms in the Glistian podcast that the NHA know exactly how to regulate horse racing , they have rules , they may make an odd error on occasion but are not obliged to and will NOT EVER explain their operations, sanctions or decisions , Vee knows best and they are beyond any form of reproach whatsoever.

S.P. please bin any comment made by me in future that has any hint of question in respect of this esteemed and august insituation who know exactly what is best practice for the governance of the South African horse racing industry finished and klaar
