My Brother,

thank you so much. yes its been a long time. Absent through distance but forever close through our young days. Not many will know what Royal Paintique meant to the community. Your mom and dad. Brother and family. All awesome.

Of course then Ganymede comes along. All of a sudden one of "us" own a horse. It's not just the great people like Mr Jaffee and Mr Beck (and many others) all of a sudden it's the local's and I'd like to say that played a part in my dream. 2024 and the 1st Group 1 with a filly that could easily have been brought up in Regents Park. Humdinger is one tough cookie. She would have held her own at The Hill High (if you don't know what that means then it matters not)

A community of immigrants, struggling, hustling. A school made up of so many cultures. Truly unique. Jewish, English, Afrikaans, Greek, Italian, Lebanese, Cypriot, Dutch, Porra's and Im not talking about 1 or 2 of each, we were well represented. The original United Nations.

Again Humdinger is exactly that, she is tenacious , gracious but most of all she is loyal.

Thank you Deon. See you soon my

On the issue of TC02 testing - was it waived on the day at the discretion of the NHA, or was it enforced with zero positive tests coming to the fore?

If it's the latter, then I must say it's a statistical marvel that on the busiest racing day of the year with the largest number of runners in action, no positives were

It's not over yet - the Champions Cup later this month could see See It Again, Cousin Casey and and Royal Victory renew rivalry.

Congrats to the Crawford Team. Great achievement.
Racing was hard all day. I am unashamedly a Richard Fourie fan so I obviously watched him more closely than others, and as he said himself at the post race interview after winning on Cafe Culture, "after his day he was very happy to be in the winners box".
He was carried out on Raiseahallelujah coming into the straight and was just starting to motor when had to switch in for a run and then was completely blocked with nowhere to go.
He was baulked for a run on Whistle the Tune at the 200m mark. I reckon he would have finished second and then finally on Double Grand Slam, she was sent through a decent gap which closed on her, also at the 250m mark, switched out and then ran on for third. I don't agree that she doesn't see out 1600m. If Richard had got through the gap, I reckon Double Grand Slam would have gone very close.
Anyway that is racing, especially on July Day. I am sure there many more hard luck stories, including See It Again being baulked at a crucial stage.
A fantastic vibe and no TCO2

10/1, same path as Winchester, front runner in a July, no weight, great draw, fit as a fiddle.....Oriental Charm was never going to be headed but its the hardest type of racing to watch. OC is going to break a few records thats for sure, nothing will get past him......could not find another winner for the day dammit but its all about the July !!!!

The July is a true handicap race. The winner was well handicapped and as MDK said,a3yr will win.Champions Cup is WFA,being that the best horses wins (SIA).Wasn't convinced about OC,but when I saw JP riding put some money on him, doubt OC will ever win another

Going down to the start Claude Walker alerted us as to this filly not striding out on off hind,, pity that jockey and vet didn’t pick up on

Congratulations to Brett and James Crawford on an outstanding win - fully deserved.

I watched the race on channel 209 and was disappointed with the execution. The commentator got the colours of Future Swing and Cousin Casey mixed up and was calling Future Swing home as a good thing.
DSTV then compounded the error by posting the incorrect result twice - initially it was Oriental Charm , Cousin Casey and See It Again and then it was Oriental Charm, See It Again, Cousin Casey and Royal Victory .

It took a full 40 minutes to post the correct result and when they eventually did they made no mention of the previous incorrect postings.
As this is the feed that goes out to our international viewers they should have apologised and posted the correct result far sooner than 40 minutes after the race.

The July is such a treat to watch - pity it only comes around once a year .

Congratulations to all the connections of Oriental

Well done to Mr Greg Bortz, Cape Racing, Brett Crawford and team for the superb win of Oriental Charm!! I don't mind that I have to take back my words about the 3yr Olds, they gallantly filled two of the top 4 places in the July. Horse-racing is about opinions and that's why it's such an intriguing game, no-one knows everything!

Amazingly no TCO2 breaches yesterday, how does that
