What prevents him from applying for and obtaining a licence in Australia? Is the process more onerous as it must surely be an option if he is serious about riding

Hi Ed....This decision by the NHA has to be brought into the Public Domain so that the racing public can decide if the decisions made by the NHA apply to all in an equal and just manner.I am sure that this is not the last we have heard from Andrew and I hope he takes this to the courts.Keep on fighting for what's right Andrew you have overcome bigger obstacles than NHA who appear to be scared of their own shadows...Hope to see you back in the saddle again soon.

I find it very strange that in this day and age....where everyone worldwide tries to clean up racing...there are people supporting the re licensing of Fortune.
Think about it this way..
This guy has on a particular day(s) done a lot of people in with his dishonest actions thereby costing many many punters a lot of money by losing to a horse that was dishonestly carrying the incorrect weight....or he made people in the know win a lot of money dishonestly by backing a horse that they knew wasnt carrying the allotted weight...
That is only one of his admitted transgressions...what else was there that we dont even know about....
That constitutes criminal action...
And you want to re license him to come and do it to us

A dangerous and vindictive organization to cross should you make your living out of racing.

Mr. Editor let's cut to the chase. The issue here is not Fortunes age. The issue here is not Fortunes ability. We have two recent examples of "errant" jocks who have been re-licensed by the NHA. Both of them, with respect, have far inferior records when compared to Fortune. The issue here is vindictiveness. It is well documented that Fortune has had many things to say about the inefficiencies within the NHA. Perhaps the most telling was his exposure of bribing a former clerk of the scales, and current Stipe in Gqeberga when he was struggling with weight issues in the year that he won the SA jockeys title. Perhaps Mr. Editor you could refer me to the press release that clears Sugar of these allegations?

The NHA are quick to act when it suits them. Ask the previous "special investigator" exposed as a bribe taker in the Peter case. Why was she fired and Sugar not? There are many other questions that remain unanswered. This is how dictators

Hi George, I don’t know where you heard that Syd didn’t gamble, in cricketing terms he was a first class all rounder. We made many trips to the Wild Coast casino and his preference was for Punto Banco. Dice and many card games were also in his armoury and backing horses was his forte. He had a good win when Mazarin one the 1971 July but the following year he disappointed when running below par behind In Full Flight. ( I can assure you it never ran loose that day) As far as walking off the course that day, we all walked off together only after the last race, Syd was an out and out stayer! A big win I recall, was one day at Greyville I put R20000 on a horse of his called Zatopek, running in the “C” division and owned by Graham Beck. We got 7/2 and it started evens, Not only did it cruise in but it broke the COURSE record in the process. Syd was a great man and a good friend that loved to gamble, may his dear soul rest in
