TCO2 Testing – SA Punters Forum Weighs In
This new testing process is going to be death knell of racing, a solution needs to be found soon.
While it is understandable that authorities have to prevent cheating and dishonesty, a balance has to be found to protect innocent stakeholders which includes the punters. Punters play in good faith, study form, place bets with their hard-earned money and want to enjoy the sport of horse-racing the way fans of all sports around the world enjoy their pastime. This process is not fair to punters, as punters have no influence on the outcome the way connections do!
A solution could be that the top 5 finishers of every race gets tested immediately AFTER the race. If any of those 5 horses are over the limit, they are disqualified but the result stands. The prizemoney is forfeited and the horse gets a suspension, say 6 to 8 months or more. The trainer also gets a fine. In that way the race is unaffected, the result stands and guilty parties are duly punished and punters are not negatively impacted.

TCO2 testing is done to ensure that horses do not exhibit an excess of CO2 in their blood due to performance enhancing supplements. Another reason for elevated CO2 in the blood would be distress or some other abnormalities. I suggest that raceday testing should be abolished, and that these tests be conducted a day or two before the race meeting. This would prevent any disruption to exotic permutations punters and race day

It is more complicated than that.
One takes a straight line Pick 6for R 10. Each of selections is scratched due to high TCO3 levels
The winning horses in the Pick 6 are big outsiders that going into the last leg it shows a carry over.
Does one with straight line for R 10 catch the full Pick 6 ten times.

I had a multiple bet and al my horses scratched. Not fair on the punters. Treble bets become dbl bets or dbl bets become single bets and we are not allowed to cancel our bets on line so we just lose out all the time . Not a fair process at

Ed, while all this happens, these horses will never ever get their chance to run in these classic races in their age groups.
Look at Main Defender for example, he wasn't allowed to run in the KZN Guineas, then ran in the Gold Challenge clearly needing the run.

Why are punters complaining non stop about the scratching of horses - today another favourite at Hollywoodbets Scottsvile.
The rules are there and this will happen - it's a weekly occurrence - surely every reasonable person can understand this.
Instead of waiting for the rules and processes to mature they complain like the authorities can just amend things
