Thanks for replying... so announcements were being made from the very beginning to the punting public on Raceday to inform them of the reason for scratchings as is being now done in all

It did start with no media release from the regulator.
But we ran a story in mid March, and it's stayed in the news ever since.
The information regarding testing is contained in the Stipes report of the day.
They have not published reading levels as this could be used to manipulate matters.
This was the first:

Hi Mark trust you well.I have not backed Future Swing. I actually gave him no chance at all, unless Justin being the intellectual shrewdy he is, does a "Do It Again " on the betting popolus..A scratching is certainly not out of the cards and Hopefully your fancied horse Hluwehluwe will come in.I am sure Justin with his quarter dozen already has this in mind.My fancy for the big one is Cousin Casey big time into it and his only danger is the stable Future Pearl. I think Sean Tarry is a brilliant horseman and will genuinely bring out the best in his runners. I have no doubt I will get my monies worth following my gut but more importantly will be smiling all the way to the bank..all the best for next week's

TCO2 Testing – SA Racing’s Road To Damascus Moment
In light of reading all messages and with all due respect to all powers of be and small guy all alike in racing game there is problem no doubt clearly evident but all I see is blame game portioning it to some person why rules in place... For order it know for decades people like to short circuit system for personal gain its given and in the industry of racing where millions at stake it's given some is trying to manipulate system so let's find solution to problem if tc02 is warrented and is part of rules implent it in proper way week prior to race even 2 days prior and after the due races do all the test one need to perform and if then something is found to be amiss with more then one test same test conducted by authority and trainer perform same test with his repersentive and results tally all parties bear treatment to result then major sanction should be given WE HAS THE PUNTERS THE POOL BUILDERS LIFE OF THE GAME ELIMENATE US WITH OUR CASH NO MATTER IF 1000 RAND PUNTER OR 6 RAND PUNTER OUR VALUE IS SAME WE BEAR THE BRANT OF EVERTHING THAT HAPPENS SO FIND SOULUTION SOON CHANGE RULES TO FAVOR US
TIME IS NOW OR FACE

TCO2 Testing – SA Racing’s Road To Damascus Moment
what most are failing to understand is that the industry has to do something to keep L&O transgressions are taking place ,, watch the stats on scratchings and corrolate that with winners and stables,,, hello
For the betterment of this industry this is it for the moment.
They do need to find a way for punters to be accommodated in this bloodshed, but its this bleeding that owners need to take note of of which trainers are being highlighted on

We have heard from PUNTERS that this TCO2 testing the way it is done is not good for horse racing.
We have heard from JOCKEY the same thing
We have heard from TRAINERS the same thing
And we heard from OWNERS loud and clear the testing is not good for horse racing
The TOTE doesn't care.
Who else makes up this horse racing industry?
The BOOKMAKERS
Have not heard a tweak from them re testing.
So we ask. Do BOOKMAKERS lose out when a heavily backed 4/10 fails TCO2 test.
You sometimes remember the chap under the bridge at Blue

No disrespect to anybody but you should know that when you milkshake a horse before the race after running the race the TCO2 becomes normal again. Individuals can also give medication to horses to improve their personal undetected to which the the trainer is unaware

So Mr Editor, i see this started in march, as a punter i never ever heard about this only of recent. leads me to believe everything about the testing was kept private from inception, why why why, especially to the public mainly the punters. All was done hush hush, all the public knew was late scratchings, no reason was made mention. It is only recently that mention is made of these escelated levels, even so no mention is made of which horses were tested and which were not tested in the same race. Wouldn't you think it would be good for the punting public to know before the race, eg - there are 10 runners and of the 10, numbers 1-5 have only been tested. If this is so and please correct if i am wrong. If what i am saying is true then we as punters are totally disregarded in this industry. please add some light. How is there also a case of "we and them" when one hears trainers and owners interviewed, they can say things such as we are suffering for others wrongdoing, some were branded as cheats for these high levels, but when some trainers levels are high they get to advise the authorities on what they must now do and meetings are had the following day to review, like raise the levels theres no way this trainer is a cheat. I got to hear this trainers voicenote and it gives insight into exactly who is running this industry and based on the owners and trainers comments when their levels are raised it says it

Hi George
We did ask to try and understand the rationale - it seems that it apparently could give any prospective wrongdoer a benchmark by which to operate.
So for example, when you get stopped at a roadblock and you read x (say 40% below limit), you know you had 1 beer and a fanta. So next time you can chance it with 2 beers and a fanta, and get away with it.
Bad example? Make sense?
