Flag Man's MR prior to the DN2000 was 92, not 97.
Also, people in some quarters are saying the horse should've had a better big race jockey. That he's been dropped by Roberts, Miller, Hill, Kotzen and Tarry etc.
That's BS! This Moodley kid rides almost exclusively in KZN and is among the top 10 riders in SA. Facts don't lie. He also has a better winners to rides strike rate than most.
My R500 is on Oriental Charm but I would not mind seeing Flag Man do the post-July canter past this

You must remember that Grant cracked the job for the Snaith team. I don't know why he lost it. He also had seven weeks worth of suspensions. Gavin Lerena has been champion before and he does ride for the Janse Van Rensburg stable.
Richard gave up his job with the Snaith stable and has won many races in the Western Cape and KZN for smaller yards. So its not all the best horses and all the big yards all the time. He had one crack at the title and gave up all his leisure/family time to achieve it. I certainly don't think it is sustainable both mentally and physically but you have to admire his
