South African horseracing has raised its public profile dramatically and banged on the doors of mainstream media to draw attention to the dire straits that the industry is in with government failing to sanction ‘ghost racing’ under level 4.
RA Director, CTS CEO and Racing Restructuring Team member Wehahn Smith was interviewed on the SABC news today.

Some of the supporting footage would probably not have pleased Justin Hoffmann, who wrote in the Sporting Post Mailbag on Friday that he believed the ‘inappropriate video’ that was used by the SABC in an interview last Thursday evening with NHA CEO Vee Moodley in no way accurately represents South African racing.
‘I took it upon myself to lodge a complaint with the BCCSA regarding the matter and I have already received a confirmation from them’, wrote Justin in his very expressive letter.
