Khaya Stables Galloper Can Step Up A Gear

Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h10

Another compelling card kicks off in the Mother City at Kenilworth today with a host of competitive racing on offer.

The first race starts at 12h55 and the lucky last will close off proceedings at 17h10.

The talented son of Captain Al is the stable elect in this contest. The guts and determination he has shown in his last two triumphs suggests that the hat-trick is very much on the cards.

He tries 1800m for the first time and if handling the extra furlong on offer then he will be difficult to peg back in the run down to the wire.

The Candice Bass-Robinson camp send out Marina who participates in Race 5. This well-bred daughter of Silvano makes her post maiden debut this afternoon.

It must be noted that the form of her maiden victory has been franked.

She jumps in pole position and her pedigree suggests that she will absolutely relish the step up in distance.

Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and the pair should take a power of beating.

The false rail is set for the winter course at 4m from the 1700m with a 6m spur at 470m.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 12h55
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h35
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h10
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h50
