Jimmy The Rich writes that Shane Humby saddles Purple And Green in the lucky last race. He caught the eye when running on to finish third over this distance on the turf last time.

He finished 1.7 lengths behind Captain Who that day. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

He is having his peak run and should be cherry- ripe. If suited to the polytrack, he should be the one to beat.

Born To Perform takes his place in Race 4 today (Pic- Candiese Lenferna)

Born To Perform from the in-form stable of Dennis Bosch takes his place in Race 4. His last start over 1400m on the turf was decent.

He lost a length at the start that day, but the manner in which he finished off his race caught the eye. He finished third in his only attempt over this course and distance.

The 7yo gelding has dropped from a merit rating of 98 to 85 and can return to winning ways from a good draw.

Thabiso Gumede will not be riding today as he is medically indisposed.
