We Race At The Vaal Today

First due off at 12h00

Racing is at the Vaal this afternoon and nine races are carded. The first is due off at 12h00 with the lucky last set for 16h35.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Stuart Pettigrew saddles King’s Ransom in Race 3.

He produced an eye-catching debut effort over this course and distance and will be ridden by Gavin Lerena, who has started the season in good style.

He took time to find his feet that day, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging.

The son of Danon Platina would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

Bob’s Your Uncle from the Lucky Houdalakis stable takes his place in Race 6. He is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out.

It must be noted that Celestial City has come out and won again since. His penultimate run when third over this distance was encouraging.

The son of Royal Mo takes on stronger, but he carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and should be up to the task at hand.
