We Are Racing: ‘Walk With Me’, Says Richie

Please note new racetimes

After morning gallops were run, the decision has been taken to go ahead with today’s Hollywoodbets Durbanville racemeeting.

Nine races are carded, with the first due off at 12h10 and the lucky last set for 16h55.

The going is shown officially as ‘good to soft’, despite jockeys having indicated that it was soft in the gallops.

Richard Fourie retains the ride on Walk With Me for the Glen Kotzen yard in Race 1 (Pic – Chase Liebenberg)

Trainer Glen Kotzen sends out Walk With Me in Race 1 and he should give punters a good start to the day.

He showed good improvement when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time.

He should have won that day as he had to be switched for running room at the 250m mark.

He will strip a much fitter horse and with Richard Fourie back on home turf and retaining the ride, he can go one better.

Miss New York from the Andries Steyn yard may be the horse to close off the meeting.

She ran on well when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.

The daughter of The United States is unbeaten from two starts in the wet going. She is in a good space and can win again.
