Rugger Bugger from the Wendy Whitehead stable takes his place in Race 4. He produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course. He took time to find his feet, but the manner in which he ran on at the business end was encouraging.

It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and he will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

The in-form stable of Michael Roberts send out Northern Warrior in Race 5. He ran on strongly when winning his last start over this course and distance. The removal of the blinkers seems to have done the trick. With a bit of luck from his wide draw of thirteen, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
