Jockey Keagan De Melo rides Donald McDonald in race 2 (Pic – Chase Liebenberg)

Trainer Gavin van Zyl saddles Donald McDonald in Race 2. He stayed on when fourth over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He has won once and finished second once from four starts on this course.

He will enjoy the return to 1800m and in this type of field, he can return to winning ways.

Soul Captain from the Frank Robinson yard may be the one to side with in Race 3. He ran a fair race in his comeback run over 1600m on the polytrack last time.

The manner in which he races suggests that he will be at home over this distance. The son of Master Of My Fate has his first run on the turf and from his good draw of four, he can shed his maiden tag.

Please note that K Strydom will not be riding today.
