Newsflash – July Jockey Rumour Quashed

Muzi is at the top of his game and will be there

Suggestions that Vodacom Durban July favourite Got The Greenlight would be ridden by a replacement rider have been quashed by trainer Joey Soma.

The Sporting Post received queries from various sources on Friday afternoon suggesting that Yeni was apparently to be replaced and that an overseas jockey ‘was being flown in’.

“I spoke to Muzi Yeni at 15h00 today. He is ready. He is feeling champion. Rumours are part of the game and we live with them. It’s green for go on Saturday. Here’s to a great day’s racing,” veteran Joey Soma told the Sporting Post.

Saturday’s Durban weather is forecast as fine and 22 degrees, with a 0% chance of rain.

A 5-10kph North Easterly head wind is anticipated.

The big race is off at 15h00.
