South Africa’s Champion Sprinter of 2013/14, Via African won three Gr1’s amongst her ten victories from sixteen starts.

By the Avontuur flagbearer Var (Forest Wildcat), Via Africa was bred by Andre Hauptfleisch out of the Qui Danzig mare Bump ‘N Grind, who won three races over 1000m.

Trained by Ricky Yiu, her son Pleasant Endeavor was piloted to victory in the 1000m heat by Derek Leung, who rode a treble on the day.

Pleasant Endeavor was an A$320,000 yearling purchase from Newhaven Park’s 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale draft by James Moore and Summit Racing.

Via Africa has a filly by Coolmore Stud’s Vancouver on the 2021 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
