Things are hotting up in the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge Racing Stars competition after the curtain came down on Day 2 at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.
The new fun competition hosted within the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge platform for South Africa’s racing presenters, personalities, commentators and journalists pits the faces and voices of racing against each other, competing on every South African race meeting, covering KZN, Western Cape, Gauteng, and Eastern Cape.
The inaugural winner was Winning Form’s James Rich, who banked R500 for finishing on top of the leaderboard on Saturday 1 April.
It was seasoned veteran Charl Pretorius who produced the goods and topped the charts after he found longshot Ancient Epic in dashing style on Sunday.
“This is one for the senior brigade and to show the young guns a thing or two before the competition gathers momentum. As Devin Heffer observed when some of us were smarting on Day 1, this can be a brutal game! But we love it and after an ordinary day on Saturday, I suppose the cream was always going to rise to the top – even though tomorrow is a whole new day and I may be eating humble pie,” laughed the man who recently penned Ormond Ferraris biography, ‘Thoroughly’.
“Seriously though, thanks to Hollywoodbets for a great concept. It’s good to see so many racing colleagues interacting and exchanging the passion. We all want to be the top dog and it’s a terrific idea!” added Charl.
For regular players the Racing Stars are also in position on the daily leaderboard – so it’s a chance for every punter countrywide to pit their individual skills against the professionals!
For the 30 days of April, there is R27 000 up for grabs, with a R500 daily Racing Stars winner takes-it-all prize for each race meeting.
