He is one of the very best sons of multiple champion sire Silvano and his 9 lots are turning heads after the first day of public inspections at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale on Thursday.
An unbeaten champion and Gr1 winner in South Africa and Dubai, the magnificent and athletic Vercingetorix is a big horse with scope and a deep girth. Testimony to the appeal of his early progeny is the fact that that in his 4th season he covered over 100 mares.
A R1.4m yearling in 2011, Vercingetorix raced in SA, Dubai and Hong Kong, winning seven times from a mile to 2000m. Undefeated in South Africa, he was voted Equus Champion 3yo Colt. Timeform rated him 124 in 2015, the year a sesamoidal ligament injury ended his racing career in Dubai.
The opinion from seasoned judges is that the handsome Maine Chance stallion has produced the goods in his first crop at the premier sale!
