Veale Suspended For Interference

Given Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Friday 09 August 2024, Jockey Sean Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

The particulars being that as the rider of Luna Halo, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to Crimson Princess and Time For Love at the 300m, in Race 6 at Fairview Racecourse on 02 August 2024.

Jockey Veale pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board after reviewing the evidence, found Jockey Veale guilty as charged.

After giving careful consideration to his riding record and all aggravating and mitigating factors, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days was imposed.

Jockey Veale was given the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
