Vaggeryd Pricing Error – Hollywoodbets Apology

Error detected ten minutes prior to race

Hollywoodbets has published an apology following the incorrect pricing of the even money favourite in the sixth race at Vaggeryd on Sunday.

This came about when their odds-makers got the pricing out of sequence after the scratching of number 4, Amourette.

The error was unfortunately only detected ten minutes prior to the start of the race, and was then corrected immediately.

By this time, several punters had taken their bets on the even-money favourite Geena Journey, at what was patently the incorrect odds of 33/1, 40/1 and 50/1.

All bets taken at the incorrect prices were cancelled and re-laid at DOUBLE the 1/1 price i.e. at 2/1, as a gesture to winning punters. (The winning tote dividend ended up as a 6/10 shot paying R1.60).

Hollywoodbets cancelled AND REFUNDED all losing straight fixed win and fixed place bets taken on number 5 (Sioux Femme Fatale) at 1/1 (Geena Journey’s price) for those clients who took it on good faith that that horse was in fact the favourite.

Multiple bets that ended on number 5 (Sioux Femme Fatale) were also paid out to the punters who backed it believing it was the favourite.

We apologize to all our loyal customers for this unfortunate error, and would also like to sincerely thank the person who brought this to our attention.

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
