First is off at 12h35

Today’s racing takes place on the Vaal Classic course and an eight-race programme is scheduled.

The return of lockdown restricted SA Champion jockey Warren Kennedy should add plenty of needle to the meeting.

There are some horses that look to be a decent price and may be worth a bet.

The first race kicks off at 12h35.

The in-form Paul Peter stable send out Ancient Rome in Race 5.

The son of Where’s That Tiger showed good improvement when finishing third over a mile on this course last time.

The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will enjoy the rise to the 2000m.

He gets the services of Warren Kennedy and with just 52kgs on his back, he should take a power of beating.

He is currently trading at 7/2 with Hollywoodbets which looks to be decent value.

Gimmethegoahead ran a fair race on debut over 1160m at Turffontein behind the highly rated Al Muthana.

Nourbese who finished ahead of him that day came out and won the Gr2 Golden Horseshoe.

The Joe Soma trained son of Gimmethegreenlight would have strengthened up during his time off the track and if not in need of the run, he should be the one to beat.

The false rail is set at zero on the back straight and bend, with a 2,5m spur at the 800m mark.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
