Vaal Test Gallop Live On Tellytrack

Grand Heritage decision pending

While things are looking positive in advance of Saturday’s R750 000 Grand Heritage at the Vaal, Phumelela are taking no chances and will make a joint final decision on a go-ahead in consultation with all stakeholders after a gallop on the track on Tuesday morning.

A decision was taken last Friday to consider delaying the Grand Heritage features by a week and continue with the other scheduled races on 29 September at the Vaal, without using the new course track.

This arose as an option after concerns as half of the Vaal track was scarified almost a month ago and that part of the track had responded well to this treatment. The second half of the track, the front straight, was partially scarified more recently on 5 September and this area was the current cause of concern.

Tellytrack will broadcast the gallops on Tuesday morning – time to be advised- watch the SP social media platforms.

A final decision on whether to maintain the status quo or postpone will be made shortly thereafter.

What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
