The Vaal racing was delayed after the second race today following serious safety concerns raised by the jockeys with regard to the rail structures.
It was noted that the goose-neck fittings, amongst others, appear to be broken and present obvious dangers for jockeys.
After a meeting, it was agreed that racing will continue and the jockeys have agreed to run wide.
This is another chapter in the problems with the Vaal racecourse – and Management again comes into question.
Surely these are basics?
