Vaal Is All Systems Go For Today’s Local Meeting

First due off @ 12h10

Sunday’s postponed racemeeting which was carded for Turffontein will take place at the Vaal today.

There are three feature races on this programme – the Betway Gr3, Got The Greenlight Stakes, Betway Gr3 Mother Russia Stakes and the Listed Wolf Power 1600.

The first race is due off at 12h10.

Texas Red from the Robyn Klaasen stable takes his place in the Listed Wolf Power 1600.

He stayed on at the finish over this distance at Turffontein last time but found one too good in the form of Main Defender.

He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe.

Winning Form-sponsored Jockey Kabelo Matsunyane is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

Trainer Billy Ruiters sends out Spirito Selvaggio in Race 4.

He ran a good race when second in his last start over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course.

He will love the rise to 1600m and should strip much fitter. Ryan Munger does duty and he may be the one to beat.
