Vaal Grand Heritage Day – First Timers

Straight from the horse's mouth

straight-from-the-horses-mouthGEOFF WOODRUFF:

Race 1 – BUSH PILOT (5): Nice sort, he had an injury when he was 3 hence only making debut now. I am happy with his progress and he is one that should be included in trifectas and quartets.

Race 3 – PAGODA (15): Is bred for quite a bit further  – maybe back end of quartets at best.

ALEC LAIRD:

Race 1 – BRADWELL BAY (12), Race 1 – SPUTNIK PLAIN (17), Race 3 – ROMI’S BOY (17): Trainer Alec Laird away overseas and assistant trainer feels that the trainer should make the comments on the first timers.

TYRONE ZACKEY:

Race 1 – KAHAL’S LEGACY (14): Will be green and improve over more ground.

CHESNEY VAN ZYL ASSISTANT TO GAVIN VAN ZYL:

Race 2 – ALWAYS A LADY (7): She is a nice filly but might just need this run.

WEIHO MARWING:

Race 2 – GEOSPHERE (10): and Race 3 – MILITARY AWARD (13): Both are nice horses but will just need the experience.

STEPHEN MOFFATT:

Race 2 – GOLDEN RAYS (11): Will need the run and experience.

Race 2 – SALMON ROSE (18): Will need the run and experience.

Race 3 – HIDDEN ASSET (11): Showing good work, if not too green, could run into the back end of the quartet.

Race 10 – KIRKCONNEL LASS (19): Nice filly, if not too green could run into the quartet.

STUART PETTIGREW:

Race 2 – PURE LOVE (15): Mr. Pettigrew preferred not to comment due to his comments being exclusively available to his patrons on his website.

JOHAN JANSE VAN VUUREN:

Race 10 – CLIFTON ROAD (5): No Comment.

Race 10 – RUSSIAN DREAM (22): No Comment.

LOUIS GOOSEN:

Louis has SIX (6) first timers running but he requested that I call him at 10am on the morning of the races after he has checked the horses bloods, etc. Unfortunately this time will be way too late to get the comments to press.

LUCKY HOUDALAKIS:

Race 3 – MACHETE (12): Is looking for much further.

CANDICE DAWSON:

Race 10 – JAMESON GIRL (18): She is doing very well at work and seems like a nice filly. She makes her debut in a very big field but if reproducing her home work, should run a nice race.

SEAN TARRY:

Race 3 – PILOU (16): No Comment.

STANLEY FERRERIA:

Race 10 – BABY GIRL (14): No Comment.

MATTHEW DE KOCK ASSISTANT TO MIKE DE KOCK:

Race 10 – TURAATHY (25): She is a forward filly and shows good speed at home. She is making her debut in a 26 horse field and one just has to hope that nothing goes wrong  but if she is not too green, can place.

PAUL PETER:

Race 10 – CLARET CUP (16): Very speedy but could be a bit green – include in back end of quartets.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute.
