Victoria Paige from the powerful Sean Tarry stable is the best bet on the day.

She never got into the race in the Grade 2 Gold Bracelet on Gold Cup day last time.

Jimmy The Rich writes that she was not disgraced when finishing fourth in the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 behind Summer Pudding in her penultimate run.

The run that catches the eye is when finishing third in the Grade 2 SA Fillies Guineas, four runs ago. She is the class horse in the race and should take a power of beating.

Soul Connection who is currently trading at around 4/1 with Hollywoodbets looks to be the best value on the card. He finished two lengths behind Snow In Seattle last time and is 5kgs better off at the weights.

That should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice, finished second once and third three times from eight attempts over this distance.

He is likely to use his early gate speed to get across from the deep draw and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

The false rail is set at 4m on the back straight and bend, with an 8,5m spur at the 800m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 12h40
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h15
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 13h50
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h20
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 14h55

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
