Grooms Challenge now at Vaal on Thursday
Saturday’s Vaal meeting was abandoned after the running of the sixth race due to excessive lightning and heavy rain and as a result of the forecast of further lightning heading towards the Vereeniging track.
Thus races 7,8 and 9 were abandoned.
As a result the ‘Grooms Challenge on Foot’, which was to have been run after the last race has been postponed to after the final event on Thursday 13 December.
The race is run down the Vaal 1600m straight for prize money of R20 000.
