Vaal 29 September – First timers

From the horse's mouth

straight-from-the-horses-mouthALEC LAIRD:

Race 1 – THANKS AGAIN (10), Race 3 – RAYDAVERIC (6) and Race 4 – FLAMINGO VLEI (6): Trainer Alec Laird is overseas and was not contactable. His assistant reserved the right to comment on the first timers and felt that the trainer needed to make the comments on the first timers.

BAREND BOTES:

Race 3 – STARK (7): Is bred to go further but can finish in the money.

JOHAN JANSE VAN VUUREN:

Race 3 – FLIPFLASH (9): No Comment!

MATTHEW DE KOCK:

Race 4 – ORCHID ISLAND (10): She has been showing decent work at home however I believe that this trip will be too short for her. She will improve from the run but I still do expect a bold showing.

STANLEY FERREIRA:

Race 4 – THIRD DAN (11): No Comment.

BRETT WEBBER:

Race 4 – BRIGHTON BELLE (12): She is a decent filly but has a bad draw to overcome.

MIKE AZZIE:

Race 8 – RETURN TO POWER (13): She is a nice filly but a bit on the slight side. She is showing fair work and is ready to run. She will not disappoint and should be there and thereabouts.
