After a lull in recent months following a spate of most unexplained incidents, two incorrect horses were presented at the Vaal for racing on Thursday.
In the third race MUSIC IN YOU – incorrect horse presented.
Trainer G J Maroun was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.45 in that he presented a horse to race which was not the correct and carded horse MUSIC IN YOU resulting in this horse being withdrawn from the above race.
Trainer Maroun signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R10000 was imposed of which R5000 is wholly suspended for a period of 12 months on condition that he is not found guilty of a contravention of this Rule during that period.
In the eighth race VARGRAVES – incorrect horse presented.
Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.45 in that he presented a horse to race which was not the correct and carded horse VARGRAVES resulting in this horse being withdrawn from the above race.
Trainer Nieuwenhuizen signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R10000 was imposed of which R5000 is wholly suspended for a period of 12 months on condition that he is not found guilty of a contravention of this Rule during that period.
