In the first meeting of the new racing season, the Vaal Classic track hosts nine races today – the first off at 12h10.

Trainer Paul Peter is the most bullish of the commenting trainers, telling us that Benji is fit and well and will go close in the third.

The Bipot starts in the second at 12h40.

The weaither is forecast as sunny and the false rail is set at 5m on the back straight and 7.5m on the bend, with ac7.5m spur at the 600m mark.
