Unzen – Fit And Handily Weighted Today!

First race off @ 12h00

A nine-race programme has been carded for Turffontein this afternoon with the first due off at 12h00.

There are two feature races including the TAB Gr2 Gauteng Guineas and the Wilgerbosdrift Gr2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas.

There is a Pick 6 carryover of R500 000 with a likely pool of R3 million.

Trainer Fabian Habib saddles Zeus in Race 4. He was an easy winner of his last start over this course and distance.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this course and distance.

He is the class horse in the race and should take a power of beating.

Unzen from the Robbie Sage stable takes his place in Race 8.

His last three starts have been good.

He set the pace over 1600m last time but was caught late by Silver Hills.

He won a good race in the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage in his penultimate run.

He does meet a competitive field, but a few of these horses may need the run and this will bring them on for future races.

The son of Erupt comes into this race fit and with just 52kgs on his back, he may be the one to side with.
