Copper Mountain Can Peak Today

The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 13h35

Turffontein

Local racing is on the Turffontein Inside course and Durbanville today.

A nine-race programme is scheduled at Turffontein.

The first race is off at 11h55 and the lucky last is due off at 16h30.

Copper Mountain from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable in Race 8 is the best bet on the card. He is a winner of his last two starts.

Jimmy The Rich writes that he raced from a prominent position last time and rallied well to get the win. The son of Noble Tune looks to be above average and has a very good chance of notching up the hat-trick.

Midnight Caller in Race 2 is the value bet on the programme.

He produced a promising debut effort over six furlongs on this course, last week. He was slow into stride, raced green but finished his race off well.

The son of Twice Over will enjoy the step up to the mile and if this run has not come too soon, he should make the natural improvement.

The Turffontein false rail is set at zero on the back straight and bend, with a 2m spur at the 500m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the second at 12h30
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third at 13h00
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 13h35
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h10
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the sixth race at 14h45

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
