Fire With Fortune

First is off at 12h30

An exciting nine-race programme is scheduled for Turffontein on the Inside course this afternoon. The first race is off at 12h30 and the lucky last is due off at 17h05.

The in-form stable of Ashley Fortune send out Captain Morisco in Race 6. He is the best bet on the day and looks to be the possible Pick 6 banker. He ran a cracker when finishing second over this course and distance last time.

Jimmy The Rich writes that he showed good pace that day and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Captain Of All makes his handicap debut this afternoon, but is lightly raced and looks to be above average. S’manga Khumalo is riding at the top of his game which is a big plus.

Rooipoort from the Coenie De Beer stable is currently trading at 25/2 with Hollywoodbets and looks to be decent value. He was not disgraced when taking on winners in his last start over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course.

The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests he will enjoy the extra distance on offer today. The engagement of S’manga Khumalo is a big positive and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Cole Dicken is not riding today.

The false rail is set at 7,5m on the back straight and bend with a 7,5m spur at the 500m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the second at 13h05
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third at 13h40
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 14h15
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h50
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the sixth race at 15h25

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
