Thursday Racing Moved To Turffontein

The Bipot starts in the first at 13h00

Eight races are scheduled for the relocated Turffontein meeting this afternoon.

S’manga Khumalo has ridden 64 winners this season at a strike-rate of 18%. He has seven rides, each of which have a decent chance of winning.

The first race is due off at 13h00.

S’manga Khumalo is the man to watch with a strike rate of 18%.

Jimmy The Rich writes Alec Laird sends out Imperial Duke in Race 8. He produced a promising debut effort over 1400m at the Vaal.

He was bumped at the start, but finished his race off nicely.

The son of Duke Of Marmalade would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural progression that is expected, he should be the one to side with.

Banha Bridge is the best value on the card. He showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1400m at the Vaal.

The manner in which he stayed on at the business end was encouraging.

The son of Flower Alley will love the step up in distance and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, he should go close to winning.

The false rail is at zero on the back straight and 6,5m on the bend with a 6,5m spur at the 600m mark.

Please note that the seventh race is run over a mile.

  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h15
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h53
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h23

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
