Heritage Day At Turffontein

First of nine races is off at 12h50

Warren Kennedy will not be riding at Turffontein today. Initial reports indicated that he would merely sit out his 48 hour mandatory suspension following a fall at Turffontein on Saturday and would likely to return today.

The first of nine races on the inside track is off at 12h50.

The Bipot commences in the second race at 13h25.

Mike de Kock has some nice runners today

An interesting runner returning from a 219 day rest is Mike de Kock’s Gin Fizz, a daughter of Soft Falling Rain who won well on debut but was then beaten by Basadi Faith, who proved more than four lengths better in two subsequent features, the Ruffian Stakes and the SA Fillies Nursery, over 1000m and 1160m respectively.

In between those two she was also beaten by Palace Of Dreams in the Pretty Polly Stakes, although just by 0.50 lengths.

She runs in the fourth and the stable indicate that while she is not one hundred percent fit, she should be competitive

The false rail is set at 2,5m on the back straight to 6m on the bend, with a 6m spur at the 500m mark.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
