Racing Goes Ahead Today

First off at 13h25

Piere Strydom and Warren Kennedy will not ride at today’s Turffontein meeting and have both been stood down on medical grounds.

With horseracing facing closure for three weeks following the lockdown announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday evening, today’s meeting potentially presents the third last opportunity for local punters before they may have to look further afield.

The first today is off at 13h25.

The track conditions have been posted as ‘Good To Soft’.

The false rail is set at 3,5m on the back straight to 6m on the bend, with a 7m spur at the 500m mark.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
