Vaal Classic Racing Returns

The Bipot starts in the first at 12h55

Racing returns to the Vaal Classic track this afternoon and eight races are scheduled.

The first race is due off at 12h55 and the lucky last is set for 16h45.

Jason Gates rides Hottentots Holland in Race 8 today.

Jimmy The Rich writes Pamushana’s Pride hails from the Alec Laird stable and takes his place in Race 4.

He followed up his maiden win with a good third-place finish over this distance at Turffontein, three weeks ago.

Despite jumping outwards at the start, he stayed on well at the business end. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should take a power of beating.

Hottentots Holland could give trainer David Nieuwenhuizen a good end to the day. He was ridden to perfection when winning his last start over 1400m.

He set the pace that day and fought back well. It must be noted that there have been multiple winners from that form line.

Jason Gates retains the ride and from pole position, he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

The false rail is at zero on the back straight and 6m on the bend with a 3m spur at the 600m mark.
