Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h40

Eight races are scheduled for the Vaal this afternoon.

The first race is due off at 12h50.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Abalus from the Ashley Fortune stable is the best bet on the card and takes her place in Race 2.

She has finished second in her last four starts. She raced from a handy position last time, but was caught in the latter stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

She should have no issues with the drop in distance and Lyle Hewitson may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Paul Peter saddles Grimaldi in Race 6. He shed his maiden tag in fine style over 1700m on this course.

It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since.

He would have gained some confidence after that victory and there should be more to come from the son of Dynasty.

Aldo Domeyer, Marco Van Rensburg and Calvin Habib will not be riding today as they are medically indisposed.

The false rail is at zero on the back straight and bend with a 2m spur at the 600m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 12h50
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h25
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h05
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h40
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h15

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
